Sadly, Life for many as with these poets is meaningless. Life is a "empty dream", "a Gloom", "a Doom", "a Sob" and "a Sneer". For others, they spend thousands of dollars, searching to the ends of the earth for Meaning or purpose in life. Some even sell all they have to some Guru or Church and giving up their lives to find purpose to life. I truly hope they find what they are looking for but bible freely gives us the answer. Yes, in the last chapters of these two great books that reveal the End of life, Daniel and Revelations, God answers this very question.
(Dan 12:10 KJV) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
(Rev 22:11 KJV) He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. (Rev 22:12 KJV) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Clearly, the Lord is telling us that Life is a trial, a test, of our souls. We can be purified and made white (Dan 12:10) by the trial (test) that is life or we will continue to do wickedly. We will be proven to be righteous (Rev 22:11) or unjust and filthy still. It is not what happens to us but how we react and let it effect our souls that matter. It is so important that we understand this and let life guide us unto God for there is a terrible and secret warning in Daniel above. The wicked shall not understand! This is a recurring theme through out the bible
(Luke 10:20 KJV) Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (Luke 10:21 KJV) In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
(Mark 4:10 KJV) And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. (Mark 4:11 KJV) And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
(Mat 13:15 KJV) For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (Mat 13:16 KJV) But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
(Mark 8:18 KJV) Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
(Acts 28:27 KJV) For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
(Rom 11:8 KJV) (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Indeed, all this scripture tells us that the wicked shall not understand because their eyes and ears are dull. They will not have the desire or heart or interest to repent and change their ways. They will not have faith! (Heb 11:6 KJV) "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
These same people demand proof. They will not get it! Jesus could have easily come in the 20th century. His miracles could have been on TV news, Coast to Coast. His resurrection broadcast world wide and recorded for all time. He was not born in this age. This age was not the "fullness of time" for him for we would not need Faith. Again, Jesus could have lived forever in his earthly body and not have been crucified. However, again, we would not need faith. If a two thousand-year-old man came walking in then what faith do you need? Like it or not, the just shall live by faith:
(Rom 1:17 KJV) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Now you see how important it is to have faith in Jesus. FAITH, divides the wicked from good. Life is trial to show whom or what you will have faith in. Jesus is the key test. All other tests will be over that decision. God has said do you really side with righteousness? Then believe in Jesus. Will you have faith in God or the "almighty dollar" or yourself or whatever? You must trust in something. What will you trust in?
Faith is the great secret to the meaning of life. I will repeat it again. It is not what that happens to you but how you react that matters. Whether you are healthy or sick, rich or poor, male or female, it is how you react that counts. Yes, I know that life can be cruel and hard and difficult. God knows that I am not untouched. The test is not an easy one. You may find much comfort in the words of Paul.
(Rom 8:18 KJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
(1 Pet 1:7 KJV) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (1 Pet 1:8 KJV) Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
However, don't be content to just endure! The meaning of life is much more than this. Faith is much more than this. Faith is the Key to a working relationship with God. Nothing is more powerful than that.
(Luke 17:6 KJV) And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamore tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
(Mat 17:20 KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Jesus is that working relationship. He is the key to the meaning of life. He is the key to unlock the power of life. Not that we will not have trials and tribulations be he has promised to see us through. He will complete the Good work in us and see us through.
(Phil 1:6 KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
(Mat 28:20 KJV) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
